eh, a humble bass player may be good for them. I wouldn't mind/care if they got someone who isn't famous to play bass for them. Honestly, there's enough to be wow'd by as it is. Fresh blood can't hurt!

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt, but it would detract from the grandioseness a bit. Just like Miyavi would.

But just imagine... Yoshiki-Gackt-Sugizo-Tetsu (l'arc). Wouldn't that be ...ubercrazyliciouslyawesome? XD

That would be pretty sweet! But getting tetsu would be pretty unlikely seeing that Laruku activities will be starting again in Spring anyway, with a tour in summer. So hope for some other cool bassists!

I'm not sure if someone has posted this already (sorry if it already has) but uh, this is Gackt apparently talking about the project on this korean music show? (I think it's more into the interview, but I'm not sure cuz my Japanese sucks and the only reason why I think that was I suddenly hard 'Yoshiki' and 'Sugizo' at around 3min-ish in). Oh, not the entire thing is about the project, I don't think, so uh... yes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN5D8EruZ_c

Enjoy.

It'd be good if someone could translate what he said around there concerning Yoshiki and Sugizo [word for word]. I read someone who posted a summary of what he said, but i think it'd be better if it was more precise.

Just that little bit....please?

I had really hoped that J would be the bassist... (still hope so) but I'm sure Yoshiki has considered the possibilty, maybe even invited J (since Sugizo was invited). I'm suspecting J probably prefers to do his solo work, which I love, by the way.

There really doesn't seem to be an ideal bassist that could join S.K.I.N. Considering that Taiji has been sick (read somewhere that he's in a wheel chair now?!?); heath is not really on the same page (level of famous-ness); and I doubt they will recruit any bassist who's currently involved in a band. (Even Miyavi was a long shot... the age and experience difference makes it quite awkward for me to perceive the four together... :/

This reminds me of many, many years ago, when I was a passionate teenager (^^; and there were surveys (or more like daydreams) on what the ideal band would be. Mine was
Vo. Gackt
Gt. hide
Gt. Sugizo
Ba. J
Dr. Yoshiki

I wasn't too far off! LOL.

I think if J was the bassist...i'd die. And not in the good way either. hehe..

I kinda hope he isn't...well, because for the obvious reason that him and Sugi can't get along AT ALL. I don't know..it doesn't make sense to make a band with someone you can't get along with when in the past you disbanded for that reason.

Yoshiki's next announcement (june 29) will probably be about the bassist. So...we wait.

Well, June 29th is actually the day of the show. They didn't say anything about an official announcement. Most people think it's just the 4 of them with support bassists, but of course, that might change.
